theme day guide

THEME DAY OVERVIEW

Theme days are fun and easy to participate in, and take place on the first of each month on our theme day page.

Please do take the time to read this before entering your link for the first time. Mostly it’s simply a matter of pasting the URL from your blog theme post into the space on our “Linky”, along with a few other details and we’ll do the rest.

INFORMATION THAT IS REQUIRED (and why).

NAME AND EMAIL ADDRESS

We know what you are thinking.

Our privacy page explains ad nauseum how we don’t do anything with your details, but we do need to be able to contact you in the event of a problem with your blog, or your linky. If you are uncomfortable with that, please contact us and we’ll see what we can do.

URL

themedayURLThe URL for your post can be found by going to your blog, clicking on the post header, which will open only that post in your browser window, and copying the URL from the browser address bar.

If you have got it right and you posted a post called “murky” on 24 October 2012, the URL should look something like this:
<www.yourblog.blogspot.com/2012/10/murky.html>
where the last bit is the date and name of the post.

If you just post your blog URL, there is a chance that the feed will not pick up the correct post, and visitors will be disappointed in you and in us. That hardly seems fair to you them, or us, does it?

TITLE

ThemeDayExampleWe ask you to provide basic details in this label simply because the Linky feed doesn’t pick up your blog name. It’s good manners to identify yourself, and the city (and Country) in which you are blogging.

In the example, it’s easy to see where three of the posts were taken but the fourth was somewhere in the world called the Sunshine Coast, and Mr Google reckons it’s anyone’s guess as to even which hemisphere that place is in!

To save this sort of confusion, and the potential for quite a bit of angst for us, please enter your < Name – City – Country> in the box as requested

OTHER QUESTIONS? –

That’s it, have fun, but if you have any further questions, please contact us and we will do our best to respond.
