Theme Days

Our December theme is is slow. It seems antithetical to the times we live in but it’s unhealthy to keep up a frantic pace forever. Sometimes we have to turn it down, reduce the pace and just relax. CDP members around the world show us things that take time to develop.

Our November theme is is cooking. Everyone eats but not all of us are skilled in the kitchen. Members who are can show their stuff. The rest of us can go to restaurants and peek into the kitchen. What’s  for dinner?

Turns out I have almost no pictures of cooking. The illustration is a photo taken many years ago in X’ian, China.

City Daily Photo’s October theme is blue. It might mean points on the spectrum, a type of atmosphere, a mood or a style of music. The illustration is Ocean Grove Beach in Washington’s Olympic Peninsula. CDP members around the world will throw us their shade.

Our September theme is bridges. Lots of literal and figurative possibilities. This is an old picture of London’s Tower Bridge at night. Let’s see what other points CDP members connect.

The August theme is fruit. Sweet or tart, tropical or temperate, served whole or in a bottle of wine. City Daily Photo members show us their lip-smacking favorites.

The July theme is flea markets. The name comes from the famous marche aux puces in Paris. They are not in every city but almost everyone has visited one. What’s on offer ranges from junk to treasure, and bargaining is helpful. City Daily Photo members show us where to get a great deal their own cities. The Linky is open from June 26 to July 4.

The June theme is sidewalk cafes. This is season for dining alfresco, at least in the northern hemisphere. In pleasant weather, people enjoy a meal, a drink and  good company outside of confines of a dining room and watch the world go by. This scene was found last year in Bologna, Italy. City Daily Photo members show us a favorite spot in their own cities.

This month’s theme has two wheels, handlebars and zero emissions. It’s nice to visit a city like Amsterdam where so many people use bicycles for transportation. City Daily Photo members will show us how friendly their cities are to bikes.

This month’s theme has so many possible interpretations but it may be something we wouldn’t often think to photograph. What do CDP members see? A patient, a provides, a pill or a procedure? Our members wish you well and may have some tips about how to get there.

This fuzzy picture was taken through the windshield of my car. It occurred to me that if I lingered longer security might want to have a chat.
