The August theme is fruit. Sweet or tart, tropical or temperate, served whole or in a bottle of wine. City Daily Photo members show us their lip-smacking favorites.

The July theme is flea markets. The name comes from the famous marche aux puces in Paris. They are not in every city but almost everyone has visited one. What’s on offer ranges from junk to treasure, and bargaining is helpful. City Daily Photo members show us where to get a great deal their own cities. The Linky is open from June 26 to July 4.

The June theme is sidewalk cafes. This is season for dining alfresco, at least in the northern hemisphere. In pleasant weather, people enjoy a meal, a drink and  good company outside of confines of a dining room and watch the world go by. This scene was found last year in Bologna, Italy. City Daily Photo members show us a favorite spot in their own cities.

This month’s theme has two wheels, handlebars and zero emissions. It’s nice to visit a city like Amsterdam where so many people use bicycles for transportation. City Daily Photo members will show us how friendly their cities are to bikes.

Except for those in very rural locations, everyone has street corners nearby. Many of us would look for something interesting and shoot it straight on. However, that’s not the only approach. This illustration, while not in the city where I live, is in my home town, looking straight up from the corner of 53rd Street and Third Avenue in Manhattan on a misty evening. CDP photographers show us all the angles this month.

It’s time for our annual tradition for New Year’s Day. City Daily Photo members post their favorite photo out of a year of shooting. I’m sure we will see some wonderful images. The picture below is from the end of our annual Artica festival.

The CDP theme for December is local history. Every place in the world has stories behind it. The illustration here is from the museum beneath St. Louis’ Gateway Arch. Pierre Laclede and Auguste Chouteau were the French traders who founded the place in 1764. Chouteau expressed optimism, but that was then and this is now. Today CDP members tell local tell local tales from around the world.
