Sharing another photo from Santa Fe. I like this photo because of the lighting and the blue trim.

Today is theme day in the City Daily Photo community and the subject is travel. As a result I’m sharing a photo my wife took of me enjoying Santa Fe New Mexico.

I was pleased with this photo given it is an iPhone photo taken through a dirty windshield.

Please know that I safely pulled to the side of the road before I took this shot. 😉

The photo also does a good job of showing the hills in the Seattle area and the mountains in the distance.

Maybe I should have titled it man on a yellow sign.

This restaurant is so popular that they make money selling T-shirts which say I survived the line at Pick Place Chowder in Seattle.

My wife was getting a mani-pedi at a Salon. At the same time I enjoyed this peaceful water fountain across the street in the University Village shopping mall.

Today’s photo shares a sad reality about newspapers. The sign on the newspaper stand says “this is not a trash can”.

An internet search finds many articles about the demise of newspaper stands. Such as Newsstand sales are officially dead!

This photo was taken in the Ravenna area of Seattle.

Interestingly, the wiki article on the Ravenna neighborhood, states “Human habitation in what is now Ravenna dates to the end of the last glacial period (c. 8000 BCE)”

Today’s photo has nothing to do with Seattle other than it was the weekend and we felt like baking.

The trick to Pineapple upside down cake, is that you flip it after it bakes 🙂

This photo was taken because of the ferry departing under a beautiful sun set sky. However, when I lighted the shadows I realized that the man, in the gold suite, was the real focal point of this photo.

This photo was taken at the Port of Edmonds which is close to Seattle.

Today’s photo shows an exterior wall graphic on the Starbucks at UVillage in Seattle.

The graphic is ment to evoke “local geography meets travel”. I like the graphic because in truley depicts local geography: mountains, water, drawbridges. buildings on every hill, float planes, sail boats, and rowing (crew). The University of Washington is also depicted.
